The Incomprehensible God

Isaiah 40:17-18, Psalms 89:6-9, 11

Your guess is as good as mine in this context and your answer just the same to the question asked in the Book of Psalms above- THERE IS NONE TO BE COMPARED TO OUR GOD. Isaiah the prophet of God was full of interest and desired to know more about this great God and after he had looked above, on and beneath the earth, he therefore understood that all things seen are nothing and so cannot be compared to this God. No man in the flesh can be able to say, I know God because He has no beginning and end but man has a beginning and an end. God cannot be equated with any being or thing created and made. The angels do not know His beginning either because they were created by Him who was before creation. David in awe and wonder sought to know the man who knew this God in fullness and who can be compared to Him in all His possessed attributes. The sons of the mighty could not be compared to our God and His faithfulness is unlike any seen on earth. He knows the beginning of every individual and He is aware of our end.  He deserves our reverence, worship and praise—Hebrews 12:28-29. Remember, He it is who is called, I AM THAT I AM, who kills and makes alive, wounds and heals… It is this INCOMPREHENSIBLE GOD who alone lifts up His hand and says-I LIVE FOREVER.

He is the God who holds my tomorrow and your tomorrow in His hands. He remains the one who calms storms, divides seas, breaks yokes and brings rivers to dry places. He feeds the poor, honours the meek, and even the whole Heavens belong to Him and the earth with its fullness was formed by Him—Hebrews 3:4. This is why no one can be saved, serve God, win souls and go to heaven, without Jesus as He is also the Creator of it all. The fishes in the sea, beasts in the field and creeping creatures no matter where found are all creations of His hands. He is the One who cares much more about your heart, soul and mind than you do. This is why He says very clearly, apparently and understandably in Matthew 11:25-30,”…come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest to your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Before this plea made by He who is lowly yet mighty, we see that Jesus thanked the Father for His mercy toward us who knew nothing of Him and has decided to help us. God in His infinite mercies, kindness and benevolence decided to reveal Himself to the babes and helpless of the earth, into which category you and I belong. It pleased Him to show forth Himself in our hearts and lives and even when we do not know how to approach Him in His fullness and glory—1 Corinthians 2:2-11.

This unsearchable God, who is the Almighty Creator of the whole universe, its dimensions and the heavens, is beyond human knowledge, and study—Colossians 1:16. He is the measurer of the waters whose hands are likened as weight balances. He alone understands the dust of the earth in a measure and weighed the mountains and the hills in a balance. And so like Isaiah, I ask, “Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being His counsellor hath taught Him? With who took He counsel, and who instructed Him, and taught Him in the path of judgement and taught Him knowledge and showed to Him the way of understanding?”  He counted the nations as a small dust of the balance and takes up the isles as a very little thing. All nations are counted to Him as less than nothing and vanity. Who is like unto the Lord our God who dwells on high and humbles Himself to see the things done in heaven and on earth? - Psalms 113:4-7. For Him it is that sits upon the circle of the earth…stretches out the heavens as a curtain and spreads them out as tents to live in. He brings the host of things above out by number and calls them by their names by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power and fails not. He gives power to the faint and to them that have no might, He increases strength; even theyouths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but he that waits upon the LORD shall renew their strength—Isaiah 40:12-19, 21-31. He reveals part of Himself to anyone whom He pleases and is fully known of no man and so none can boast of being well acquainted with Him—1 Corinthians 13:9-10. He it is who made known His part to Moses, a man who learned meekness from the ROCK! Exodus 33:18-23. He alone will destroy the wisdom of the wise, bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent, make foolish the wisdom of the world and was pleased by His wisdom to save them that knew Him not through the foolishness of preaching because His foolishness is WISER than men and His weakness STRONGER than all men—1 Corinthians 1:18-25.

No nation is indispensable. The world of Noah, the angels in his day who gave themselves off to wickedness and the lands of Sodom and Gomorrah are evidences of this fact—2 Peter 2:4-6. They sinned and rebelled against His commands and so perished in their wickedness—Jude 1:4-7. God despises sin; it was this same iniquity that separated Him from man in the beginning. He yearns to save us from our ways which are way below His and wants to bring us before His presence spotless and without blemish. This is why He keeps pointing us towards His Son, that any who wants to know Him and would love to live eternally with Him should LOOK, BELIEVE AND LIVE—Isaiah 55:8-9, Hebrews 11:1-6. This He did, demonstrating His love toward us, desiring to make us sons, so that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is—1 John 3:1-3. And so let not your heart be troubled nor dismayed. Christ Jesus’ words in John 14:1-3 appeals that. If you believe in God, believe also in Him for in His Father’s house are many mansions and if it were not so, He would have told us. He has gone to prepare a place for us and will come again to receive us to Himself that where He is, there we will be also. And till then, “…we are to preach, not in the enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power… speaking the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: which none of the princes of this world knew…”1 Corinthians 2:2-11.

And in all this, remember that this God is incomprehensible. TO CONCLUDE, He asks:

TO WHOM SHALL YE LIKEN ME OR SHALL I BE EQUAL? Says the Holy One. Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? THERE IS NO SEARCHING OF HIS UNDERSTANDING!!!

Remember David in his psalms made us understand that,” God said it once and twice have I heard it; that power belongs unto God.”

REMAIN BLESSED!!!

Pst Ig Nwabuo God has no limits, one cannot know the entirety of Him.
